After you know which fruits can help you get a restful sleep, we’ll show you a trick to relax and fall asleep quickly. Did you know that your diet can affect your sleep?

That’s right, there are foods that help us sleep well, while others can prevent us from getting the rest we need.

Research from 2021 found that eating more vegetables and fruits was linked to a good night’s rest.

So if you don’t sleep well, try eating one of these foods a few hours before bedtime and you’ll see how you sleep better.

Pineapple

Pineapple contains nutrients that stimulate the production of serotonin and components that help reduce anxiety. When you eat pineapple slices before bed, your brain increases the production of the sleep hormone, which helps you get a good night’s sleep.

Avocado

Since it contains a large amount of B and B3 vitamins, it helps balance the hormones responsible for sleep. It’s recommended to consume 2 tablespoons of avocado without sugar before going to bed. If you like, you can also mix it with some cocoa without sugar to make a dessert.

Bananas

The fruit is rich in potassium, a mineral that’s essential for deep sleep. Bananas also contain tryptophan and magnesium, which makes them a natural sedative.

Cherry

This tasty little fruit is another source of melatonin. It can be eaten fresh, as a juice, or as a dessert with dinner.

Orange

Recent studies show that eating oranges can be beneficial for sleep. Eating oranges seems to increase the concentration of melatonin,  the main hormone responsible for sleep, and help you sleep better.

Kiwi

According to researchers, kiwi is a source of antioxidants and serotonin  that can help induce sleep, increase its duration and efficiency.

An easy way to enjoy kiwi is to cut it in half and eat the pulp with a spoon. Grapes A study has proven that grapes contain high levels of melatonin.

Although the study tested only the fruit, researchers say the substance may also be present in wine. But be careful: alcohol can interfere with sleep.

Our final tip is to try to eat up to 3 hours before bedtime and choose what you eat carefully. Remember that overeating can affect your digestion, so always opt for lighter and healthier meals.

And if you want to create a better environment for sleep, you can turn down the lights in your house. If you have an oil diffuser, you can still use some essential oil to calm and relax.

Avoid watching TV shows that make you tense and agitated; if possible, watch a comedy or read a good book. So, did you like today’s tip?
