My neighbor taught me this trick to make clothes white, and in today’s video I’m going to share this tip with you! If you are like me and love buying white clothes, you’ll love today’s tip!
But first, tell me in the comments: do you usually wear white clothes?
White clothes are a sign of purity, calmness, confidence and cleanliness; but I must confess to you: there’s nothing more discouraging than taking your white shirt out of the closet and realizing that it’s yellowed after just a few washes, is there?!
If this has happened to you too, tell me, what’s your trick to make your shirt whiter?
There are many products in the market that help us restore the white color of clothes, but they also have many chemicals in their formula that end up damaging the clothes and making the fabric very thin, which leads to the wear of the clothes.
The trick you’re about to learn is very simple and you practically only need one ingredient; that’s why I like to use this trick when I need it!
All you need is baking soda. But how do you use baking soda to bleach your clothes?
It’s simple: first, you add 1 cup of baking soda to 4 liters of water and mix it until the baking soda is completely diluted. Then you just have to soak the garment in this mixture, and soon you’ll notice the result.
The uses of baking soda for cleaning the house and clothes are countless, which is great; not to mention that it’s very cheap and if you use it instead of washing powder, you’re still doing something for the environment.
Did you know that baking soda has 4 advantages over washing powder?
The first one is removing stains. To do this, you will make a paste.
Baking soda is a great natural stain remover. Since it’s mild, it can be used on almost all types of fabric. Just mix it with 1 tablespoon of waterto make a thick paste.
You can also use hydrogen peroxide or vinegar instead of water, but avoid using this solution on fabrics that need to be dry cleaned because you’ll have to rinse it out afterwards, leaving the fabric wet!
The paste is great for removing oil, grease, dirt, food stains and other substances. Rub the paste onto the stain and then rub it in well.
Let it sit for 15 minutes and then rinse it under running water to remove the residue. Running out of fabric softener?
Then tip two is just what you need! Don’t worry, you can also use baking soda as a fabric softener, did you know that?
Just add 1/2 cup of baking soda before the last wash cycle. How cool is that!
The third option is to prevent bad odors. Simply soak the garment overnight in water with baking soda. This works especially well for clothes, towels, and other items that normally smell bad, like mildew, smoke, sweat, etc.
The next day, the clothes will be ready for washing. And the colored clothes will be much brighter. The fourth tip is to use baking soda to clean your washing machine.
Rinse your washing machine without clothes in it, using 1 cup of baking soda. This will get rid of bad odors and dirt stains.
Also, baking soda combined with washing powder makes daily washing more efficient. Did you like today’s tips?
