Why You Should Put Lemon Juice In Your Coffee

Have you ever tried adding lemon to coffee? Yes, this combination has become popular on Tiktok and promises to help you lose weight quickly and easily.

TikToks with the hashtag #LemonCoffee have received millions of views combined, and there are countless YouTube videos of people trying this recipe.

In fact, both coffee and lemon have proven health benefits, such as their high antioxidant content, which protects the body from the effects of free radicals.

According to popular belief, coffee with lemon helps burn fat and lose weight, relieves headaches, helps with diarrhea, improves brain health and mood, and even offers skin care benefits.

However, some benefits of coffee with lemon are just myths.

Find out what the science says about it here:

Relieves headaches

Caffeine is actually an ingredient in many headache remedies. Research shows that it can be an effective remedy for migraine pain – but for some people, caffeine is actually a trigger for migraines, so you need to pay attention to how your body reacts to it. Also, coffee has been known to stop morning headaches, especially in people who get headaches from not drinking coffee anymore. Ironic, isn’t it? Lemon has nothing to do with it.

Improves brain health

A recent study found that drinking coffee and tea can lower the risk of dementia. But again, lemon isn’t involved.

Improves your mood

When you drink a cup of coffee, you may feel better right away. A large study found that women who drank several cups of coffee a day were less likely to suffer from depression than women who drank less than one cup a day. Is there any reference to lemon in this study? No.

Others say that the combination of coffee and lemon can be very tasty, although they may not notice these benefits.

As far as social media trends go, at least this one seems pretty harmless. However, it’s important to know that consuming caffeine, especially in large amounts, can cause dizziness, palpitations, anxiety, stomach problems and increased heart rate, among other things. Excessive citrus consumption can also lead to stomach problems and heartburn.

So does coffee with lemon really help you lose weight?

If you replace a high-calorie morning drink with sugar-free black coffee with lemon, you may lose weight.

It’s worth remembering that both coffee and lemon are good for your health in their own right and have several benefits for your body. However, there’s nothing special about mixing the two.

And the preparation is quite simple: add the juice of half a lemon to your coffee.
